Maiden Rescue Squad has a long-standing history of serving the Maiden community and surrounding areas of Catawba County. The organization was officially organized in 1968 and incorporated on May 8, 1968, establishing a dedicated local rescue service focused on providing assistance to those in need.
Throughout the years, Maiden Rescue Squad has grown alongside the communities it serves, expanding its capabilities, equipment, and training to meet the changing needs of emergency response. The squad has proudly responded to medical emergencies, traffic accidents, vehicle extrications, and a variety of technical rescue incidents.
In 2018, Maiden Rescue Squad entered a new chapter in its history following the conclusion of Hickory Rescue Squad’s operations. Maiden Rescue was entrusted with the former Hickory Rescue Squad’s second base, along with its vehicles and equipment. This transition allowed Maiden Rescue Squad to continue providing dedicated rescue services to the surrounding communities while building upon the foundation of service that had been established in the area.
Today, Maiden Rescue Squad continues to grow while honoring the history and traditions that have shaped the organization. Our members remain committed to maintaining a high level of readiness, providing quality medical and technical rescue services, and serving our communities with professionalism and compassion.
For more than five decades, Maiden Rescue Squad has been built on service, dedication, and a commitment to being there when our community needs us most.
